An okay read

This was an okay read and was very interesting at the start. I was a bit surprised at the end when Alana (the heroine) after declaring her love for Sloan chose to ignore him and create an uprising amongst poor farmers to go and fight in a battle that they were sure to loose.
She did not even have a discussion with her husband just jumped up and made these poor men go to a battle they were sure to loose. The husband (strong man that he is) tried to stop her from taking these men to loose their lives but of course she ignores him and calls him a traitor for wanting peace. Then all that happened was that Sloan decides to go and assist her and of course she is so affected by the sight of the battle she is incapacitated(being the strong war leader and all , ha ha ha), All the men get killed and her husband gets thrown in jail while she is being comforted for having to witness the spoils of war (the strong warrior that she is of course).
Sometimes we have to be realistic in these stories. I was annoyed with Alana at the end and wondered at the character's over reactive behavior and lack of care for her people................. Seriously!!

Human Emotions

This book drags us back to ancient times. The joys, hardships and the lack of womans rights, where woman were just chattels at the beck and call of their men. Also making the reader realise just how harsh these times could be but also, how occasionally, there was love, joy and pleasure.

Wonderful story!

Love conquers all. Slone and Alana face it all and prevailed even though odds were against them - especially betrayal by someone you call friend. I highly recommend this book if you love a good love story and a happy ending.
